Eduardo Lourenço: Ficção de Si [Intro] was presented at Amadora BD

“The edition and the project were presented on October 25th, at the 35th Amadora BD Festival. The edition was available at the A Seita stand, but the 14 copies made available were insufficient, as they were sold out and bad luck was with us, as when we were going to purchase our copy we were the 15th… However, we still leafed through a few pages and from the looks of it, it is worth purchasing.

Let’s hope more are made available, as this edition only had 100 copies.

This project Celebrating Eduardo Lourenço was presented in 2023, in the Noble Hall of the Rectory of the University of Lisbon and announced the project ‘A Arte ao Encontro de Eduardo Lourenço’, highlighting creations in various artistic disciplines, such as literature, theater, cinema and dance, and also comics, inspired by the personality and thoughts of what is considered the last great Portuguese thinker.

Produced by Edicarte and Longshot, Eduardo Lourenço: Ficção de Si [Intro]  is written by writers Diogo Figueira (By Flávio) and Sabrina D. Marques (Os Fotocines), and artists Daniel Maia (CoBrA: Operação Goa) and Susana Resende (Aurora Boreal em Reflexos Partilhados), assuming itself as an unauthorized fiction that aims to highlight the transgressive personality of the philosopher and his work. With a sense of today, freely reconstructing a life of intellectual affections and fierce defense of ideals, inspired by his muse and wife Annie Salomon, in which dream manifestations and anticipations of various times intersect, this fiction opens a real cry against a world in collapse.

With the work in production, editors Ana Faria, on behalf of Edicarte, (Memória do Açúcar na Madeira) and Vasco Sequeira (Eduardo Lourenço – O Labirinto da Saudade) publish this sample of the comic, complemented by exclusive sketches and production diary, in a limited edition.
