Longshot at the International Comics Festival in Beja

In 2023, at the presentation ceremony of the Celebrar Eduardo Lourenço project and its respective program “A Arte ao Encontro de Eduardo Lourenço,” in the Noble Hall of the Rectory of the University of Lisbon, creations were announced in various artistic disciplines, such as literature, theater, cinema and dance, as well as a comic book work, inspired by the personality and thoughts of what is considered the last great Portuguese thinker.
Produced by Longshot in partnership with Edicarte, the work Eduardo Lourenço: Ficção de Si Mesmo is written by writers Diogo Figueira (Sagrada Família) and Sabrina D. Marques (Os Fotocines), and by artists Daniel Maia (CoBrA: Operação Goa) and Susana Resende (Aurora Boreal em Reflexos Partilhados), and is assumed to be an unauthorized fiction that aims to highlight the transgressive personality of the philosopher, presenting his works and freely reconstructing a life of intellectual affection and fierce defense of ideals, inspired by his muse, Annie Salomon, in which dreamlike manifestations and anticipations of the future intersect. With a sense of today, this fiction opens a real cry against a world in collapse.
Once the work is in production, the authors and editor Vasco Sequeira (Producer: Eduardo Lourenço- O Labirinto da Saudade), edit a sample of the comic, complemented by exclusive sketches and writing production diary, in a limited and numbered edition, which will be available at the Book Market of the 19th International BD Festival of Beja, where the project will be presented, on Sunday, June 9, at 3 pm.
